Get the photo count wrong and a listing suffers — too few and buyers feel something’s being hidden; too many near-identical shots and they lose interest. So how many images does a property actually need? Here’s a simple guide by property type.
A rough guide by property
- Studio or one-bedroom apartment: around 10–15 images
- Two-bedroom apartment or unit: around 12–20 images
- Standard residential home: around 15–25 images
- Large or premium home: around 25–40 images
- Commercial property: varies widely with size and function
Quality over quantity
The goal isn’t to photograph every corner — it’s to show each key space once, at its best. A tight set of strong images tells a clearer story than a long gallery of repetitive shots.
What to always include
- A strong exterior or street view as the lead image
- Every main living space, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom
- Outdoor areas, and standout features or views
- Optional drone or twilight shots for the “wow” factor
